WorkTone – Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

WorkTone does not collect, store, or sell any personal information. The extension only processes text the user provides for tone conversion, local preferences, and optionally an API key saved locally.

2. How Data Is Used

WorkTone exclusively uses your text for sending it to the Groq API and returning the refined version. No data is stored or shared.

3. Local Storage

Any settings or API keys are stored only on your device using Chrome storage. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

4. Clipboard Usage

Clipboard write access is used only when you click “Copy” to place converted text on your clipboard. Nothing else is accessed.

5. Permissions

WorkTone uses minimal Chrome permissions including activeTab, scripting, clipboardWrite, storage, and contextMenus. No remote code is executed.

6. Remote API Processing

Only the Groq API is contacted for text processing. Their privacy terms apply to the handling of your submitted text.

7. Children’s Privacy

WorkTone is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Updates will be reflected with a new date.
